Acting station commander Colonel Motsatsi Lesomo led the event.

“We want to celebrate fathers at the station and acknowledge that they do not just work but are family members.”

Captain Sibanyoni said men needed to take responsibility and understand their purpose.

Fathers at the police station attended.

“Fathers are role models for their children and a support system for any wife, girlfriend, or sister. We must celebrate fathers, just to let them know they matter,” said Sibanyoni.

The day also saw the male staff at the station discuss fatherhood and advise each other as fathers.

Social crime prevention co-ordinator Sergeant Mpho Sigida said the event brought men together to discuss and share their problems.

“We are all the same. If I have a problem, I need to find someone who can assist me in expressing that problem or get help by seeing a therapist,” said Sigida.
