Local centre celebrates spring and Arbor Month

The false olive tree is fast-growing, indigenous, evergreen and has stunning flowers.

With the arrival of the month of spring, September, Thornhill Manor retirement village sprung into action to celebrate the new season as well as Arbor month.

On September 1, the village planted a buddleia saligna, or false olive tree.

As is the case each year, Servest donated the tree, assisted with digging the hole, and provided compost and fertiliser.

The Thornhill Manor Garden Club arranged for tea and cake afterwards.

Beautiful cuttings of crab apples were displayed to bring a spring feel to the day.
