EMPD officers inspect scholar patrol operations at Shukumani Primary School

The EMPD, together with Social Crime Prevention Unit officers, conducted a scholar patrol inspection at Shukumani Primary School in the Ecaleni section on April 23.
The operation focused on ensuring the safety of learners during school arrival and departure times, particularly around road crossings and nearby traffic points.

Officers monitored scholar patrols, assisting learners to safely cross roads around the school and ensured that motorists adhered to designated drop-off zones in the area.

The inspection forms part of ongoing efforts by authorities to improve safety around schools and reduce the risk of accidents involving learners in high-traffic areas.
