Oranjehof Dutch Market draws crowds despite cold and rainy weather
Communities once more gathered for a Dutch tradition.
Residents from Pomona and surrounding areas, along with market enthusiasts, gathered at Oranjehof Retirement Village on May 1 for the 2026 first Dutch Market, braving cold and rainy weather to enjoy a day of food, craft and community.
Despite the conditions, visitors turned out in numbers to support the retirement village and experience a vibrant Dutch-themed market with family and friends.

The market catered for all ages and backgrounds, with organisers ensuring a wide variety of offerings beyond Dutch culture alone. From toddlers to elderly visitors, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Claire Bouw said it was her first time attending the market, and she was impressed by the atmosphere.
“It is busy, and there is such a range of stalls. It is fantastic to see people out and about despite the weather,” she said.
“The food always stands out for me, and it was no different this time.”
The market featured a mix of Dutch-inspired items and general stalls, including clothing, artisan crafts and food.
