Community comes together as charity organisation spreads hope in Thembisa
Organisations unite to restore the dignity of Madelakufa residents for Mandela Day.
Share The Love Charity Organisation brought a message of care and support to Madelakufa Section, Thembisa, during a Mandela Day community outreach event on July 18.
Hundreds of residents gathered for a day focused on dignity, compassion and community support as the organisation dedicated its 67 Minutes to assisting families and individuals in need.
The outreach provided sanitary pads for women and girls, clothing for men, women and children, fresh fruit, meals and refreshments to community members.

Founder of Share The Love Charity Organisation Keneilwe Marobela, together with partner Fezile Nonjiko, said the initiative was inspired by the belief that everyone has the ability to make a difference in their community.

“Inkosi yama Khosi Yomoya taught us that it is in our hands to make a difference and bring unity. In Madelakufa, we chose to make that difference through food, clothing and respect,” said Marobela.
“When a girl has a pad, when a father has a shirt, and when a child receives fruit and a warm meal, that is dignity.”
The event saw men, women and children receive assistance alongside one another, with volunteers ensuring that each person was treated with care and respect.
Marobela said the organisation’s work extends beyond once-off events, as it continues to support vulnerable children and families throughout the year.

“We do not just give items. We restore hope. When the whole community shows up, men, women and children, it reminds us that healing is possible when we work together,” she said.
Share The Love thanked its volunteers, donors and partners, including Wire Wire Fibre and Sasko, for contributing goods, time and resources towards making the outreach possible.
The organisation continues to encourage businesses and community members to partner with them in supporting communities across Thembisa.
