Operation O Kae Molao conducted in Kempton Park
The Kempton Park SAPS reduced crime in the area with operation O Kae Molao.
The multi-disciplinary Operation O Kea Molao was led by Ekurhuleni deputy district commissioner Brigadier Lebohang Machakela in Kempton Park on June 1.

Various police stations, including Edenvale, Sebenza, Norkem Park, Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Thembisa and Olifantsfontein, were part of the operation.

Other units, including K9, Crime Intelligence, the EMPD, and Home Affairs, participated with the Kempton Park CPF and private security companies.
Machakela said the officers looked for stolen vehicles, unlicensed firearms and drug dealers.

The police searched every person who passed through the roadblocks.
“The operation aimed to reduce crime and ensure the community of Ekurhuleni was safe,” he added.
The control immigration officer from Home Affairs, Beka Yingwani, said their role was to identify undocumented persons.
“We arrest, detain, profile and deport to the country of origin,’’ said Yingwani.
He advised those in the county illegally to visit any Home Affairs for information on which permit they qualified to apply for.

The operational activities included stop and searches, roadblocks, high visibility patrols, compliance inspections at liquor outlets and second-hand goods dealers and tracing suspects.

Ekurhuleni District acting communication officer Jacob Mashile said the operation’s success included arrests for the dealing in and the possession of drugs and dealing in liquor without a license.
According to Mashile, they arrested 207 people.
Machakela commended those who participated for their commitment and dedication to keeping the community and their property safe and secure.
“During the operations, the community and the criminals saw and felt our presence,’’ said Mashile.
