SAPS warn of increased theft from vehicles in Kempton Park

Motorists must be aware of their surroundings and vigilant when entering and exiting parking lots.

The Kempton Park SAPS urges residents to look out for suspects stealing items from motor vehicles.

The station’s spokesperson, Sargent Dipuo Ditshego, said motorists should not leave their car keys in the vehicle’s ignition.

“Always close and lock vehicle doors and windows and keep valuable items out of sight,” she said.

Ditshego added that motorists must be aware of their surroundings and vigilant when entering and exiting a parking lot.

“These warnings stem from an increase in motor vehicle thefts at Glen Acres malls and Arwyp Hospital parking,” said Ditshego.

The police ask the community to be their eyes and ears to help curb these crimes.
