Flying squad enforces law and order in Kempton Park

The suspects will appear in the Kempton Park and Boksburg Magistrate’s courts on charges of possession of drugs and attempted hijacking.

A 47-year-old man was arrested by police officers from the Benoni Flying Squad for possession of drugs along North Rand Street in Kempton Park last Tuesday.

Cocaine was recovered.

On Thursday at about 11:00, officers responded to a complaint of armed robbery in progress at the corner of Atlas and Avon roads in Bonaero Park.

On arrival, officers discovered two suspects, aged 28 and 31 had been apprehended by local security officers.

Last Tuesday, a 47-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Benoni Flying Squad for possession of drugs on North Rand Road in Kempton Park.

It is believed the two had attempted to rob a Toyota Hilux, but due to the swift response of the security officers, they did not escape.

A toy gun was recovered as evidence and the suspect’s getaway vehicle, a Blue Kia Picanto was impounded for use in the commission of a crime.

The security officers are commended for their response and apprehension of the suspects.

In further policing, one abandoned stolen motor vehicle was recovered, a white Isuzu, at Khatamping Section, Thembisa, reported on a Thembisa south case.

Investigations into all cases continue.

The suspects will appear in the Kempton Park and Boksburg Magistrate’s courts on charges of possession of drugs and attempted hijacking.
