Search for kidnapped Pomona businessman continues

Anyone with information about Williams and his whereabouts can contact their nearest police station.

The search for the kidnapped Pomona businessman Ashley Williams, is still on.

Williams was kidnapped from his business premises on May 3.

His family has once again requested the community to assist in locating him.

“Williams and some of his employees were robbed at his business premises in Pomona Road on May 3,” said a close family friend who asked not to be identified.

He told the Kempton Express the robbers took wallets and cellphones from employees before forcing Williams into their vehicle and driving off with him.

Anyone with information about Williams and his whereabouts may contact their nearest police station, or 082 496 2825.

Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego confirmed a case of kidnapping and armed robbery opened at the police station.

She also confirmed the armed assailants took two cellphones, wallets with bank cards and R14 000 in cash during the robbery.

“The victim was in a meeting with two employees in the business premises’ yard when four armed men approached them. The robbers forced the three victims to lie on the ground before searching them,” said Ditshego.

She said the robbers took belongings before they grabbed Williams and forced him into their silver Mercedes Benz.

“The police tested the vehicle registration plates and found the plates used on the vehicle were false,” said Ditshego
