WATCH: Cash-in-transit robbery rocks Thembisa

Kempton Express journalist Kamogelo Magolo reports that she heard gunfire and witnessed two vehicles fleeing the scene.

Police are on scene of this morning’s (July 3) cash-in-transit robbery in Thembisa.

Kempton Express journalist Kamogelo Magolo reports that while travelling to work this morning she witnesses two vehicles fleeing the scene.

“I heard several gunshots just moments before.

“When we passed the area we saw two vehicles on fire, on was a cash transport van and the other was a blue Mercedes Benz.”

Passers-by were seen picking up money strewn across the roadway.

EMPD spokesperson Marie Mashishi said that a temporary closure will be in affect between New Road and Sam Mulele Drive  to accomodate crime scene investigations.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes to reach Essellen Park.
