Denise Hattingh: State finalises investigation

Murder accused Denise Hattingh is due to appear in court on November 26 as the state has finalised its investigation.

Murder-accused former Kempton Park hairdresser Denise Hattingh appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court on November 11 and 14.

When she appeared before court on November 11 her case was postponed to November 14 after her attorney was called out of court.

On November 14, a transportation issue hindered the arrival of all female inmates.

Hattingh and other female prisoners only arrived in court after lunch.

The prosecution told the court that it had finalised its investigation.

The matter was postponed to November 26 to allow Hattingh’s defence to submit their final submission of representation.

At Hattingh’s last appearance, the prosecution stated that it plans to proceed with charges of premeditated murder against her.

Her defence, however, asked for the court to consider a lesser charge.

Hattingh is accused of killing 29-year-old Markus Greeff on May 15 at a property on West Street in Pomona.

Hattingh was arrested on May 16 after police issued a lookout for her in connection with Greeff’s murder the previous night.
