EMPD arrests two suspects for dealing drugs

The team confiscated the illicit substances and transported the suspects to the Tembisa Police Station.

The EMPD’s Community Liaison Unit, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, arrested two men, aged 34 and 43, on January 8.

They arrested the men during a crime prevention operation in the eThafeni and Isiziba sections of Thembisa.

One suspect had 28 pieces of rock and 10 brown plastic packets of nyaope, while the other had 153 Mandrax tablets and 42 Ziplock packets of rock.

The team confiscated the illicit substances and transported the suspects to the Tembisa Police Station.

The men face charges of dealing in illicit substances and will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.

The EMPD commended its officers and law enforcement partners for their swift action and collaboration in ensuring those involved in criminal activity are held accountable.
