R7.5 MILLON in cocaine seized at OR Tambo, two arrested

The female suspect was carrying cocaine worth R2.5 million, while the male suspect had R5 million worth of the drug hidden in his luggage.

The SAPS arrested two South African nationals at OR Tambo International Airport for drug trafficking and seized cocaine with an estimated street value of R7.5 million.

Police confirmed on February 21 that the suspects, a man and a woman, arrived on separate flights from Brazil before being intercepted by authorities.

On inspection, police discovered that the female suspect was carrying cocaine worth R2.5 million, while the male suspect had R5 million worth of the drug hidden in his luggage.

Both individuals were arrested and are expected to face drug trafficking charges.

Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
