Man arrested for murder after fatal altercation in Glen Marais

On March 7, officers were called to a residence in Glen Marais, where they discovered the body of a 57-year-old male with head injuries.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested for murder following a fatal altercation in Glen Marais, Kempton Park.

Last night, March 7, Sergeant Emmanuel Mucheko and Constable Nkele Letsoalo were called to a residence in Glen Marais, where they discovered the body of a 57-year-old male lying on a concrete surface with head injuries.

At the scene, another male approached the officers, stating that the deceased had accused him of stealing his firearm the day before.

He denied the accusation, which led to a physical altercation between the two men.

During the fight, the suspect allegedly pushed the deceased, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete surface.

Emergency services were called, but the man was declared dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Germiston Government Mortuary.

Sgt Mucheko and Cst Letsoalo arrested the 49-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody at the Kempton Park police cells.

He is facing a charge of murder and is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.

The investigation is ongoing.
