Two police officers among those arrested for BLUE LIGHT robberies in Kempton Park
A total of four suspects arrested by a specialised team were linked to two cases of hijacking in Kempton Park.

Police have made a breakthrough in tackling blue light robberies after arresting four suspects, two SAPS officers linked to crimes in Kempton Park.
On March 20, a specialised team comprising Gauteng SAPS Crime Intelligence, the Provincial Investigative Unit, Highway Patrol, and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) acted on intelligence regarding police involvement in blue light robberies.
The two officers were summoned to the station for questioning, leading investigators to two civilian suspects.
“Further investigations resulted in the discovery of three firearms and signal-jamming devices.

“All four suspects were arrested and linked to two cases of truck hijacking and carjacking in Kempton Park,” said Gauteng SAPS’ Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.
Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, welcomed the arrests and condemned the involvement of law enforcement officers in criminal activities.
“It is disheartening to see those entrusted with upholding the law working alongside criminals to terrorise our communities. This arrest should send a strong message,” said Mthombeni.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to dismantle blue light robbery syndicates in the area.
