Police seize Ketamine, Morphine and stolen goods in Norkem Park raid

The operation followed months of investigation into a string of truck hijackings and business robberies reported since November 2024.

A collaborative crime operation led by the EMPD’s Northern Region Task Team has resulted in a major breakthrough in an alleged drug and stolen goods syndicate operating out of Norkem Park this afternoon, April 16.

In a joint effort with Lapua Special Operations, ZSS Security, Seek Security, Proshield Security, Nightguard Security, Monitor Net, FADT, and Vision Tactical, officers seized a significant quantity of Schedule 5 and 6 medication suspected of being illegally sold and distributed.

At the scene, they recovered large quantities of narcotic analgesics – Ketamine, Pethidine, and Morphine – along with undisclosed amounts of cash, lithium batteries, and inverters. Photograph supplied.

The operation followed months of investigation into a string of truck hijackings and business robberies reported since November last year, including an attempted murder case.

Intelligence gathering led officers to a house in Du Plessis Street, Norkem Park.

Three male suspects, aged between 37 and 51, were arrested on site as they attempted to offload lithium batteries from a silver Mazda BT-50 and a white Toyota Hilux.

Representatives from Fresenius Kabi and Solarwize arrived at the scene and positively identified the medication and energy products as stolen goods from their respective companies.
