Multi-area police operations lead to arrests and drug seizures

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested five suspects and recovered drugs between July 28 and 31.
On July 28 at around 06:40, members patrolling the N12 direction Benoni noticed a white Lexus travelling at a high speed.
Members followed as it took the R555 Etwatwa offramp and travelled towards Etwatwa when members pulled it over.
A 30-year-old suspect was arrested when members discovered six bags of dagga valued at around R10 000 in the vehicle.

The dagga was booked in as an exhibit at Etwatwa SAPS, and the vehicle was booked as used in the commission of a crime.
In further policing, members arrested four suspects on July 31 at Mabaso and Nhlapo Streets, Tsakane, as well as Prince George Avenue, Brakpan. Cocaine (rocks) and crystal methamphetamine were recovered in these separate incidents.
The suspects will appear in the local Magistrate’s Courts facing charges of possession of and dealing in drugs. Investigations are ongoing in these cases.
