EMPD recovers hijacked Kia bakkie in Kempton Park

It is alleged that the motor vehicle was hijacked in Kempton Park with a load of cargo (clothes). The driver was dropped off at Kwartel Road and the white Kia bakkie was abandoned on Opstal Street, Kempton Park West.

EMPD Northern Region Task Team officers recovered a hijacked white Kia bakkie in Kempton Park on September 18.

Officers were conducting crime prevention duties when they received information from a tracking company about the vehicle.

It is alleged that the bakkie, carrying a load of clothes, had been hijacked in Kempton Park.

The driver was reportedly dropped off on Kwartel Street, while the vehicle was abandoned on Opstal Street in Kempton Park West.

The driver was taken to Kempton Park Police Station to open a case.

All relevant role players were summoned to the scene, and the bakkie was taken to the Pretoria West police pound for further investigation.
