EMPD arrests 38 undocumented foreign nationals across Ekurhuleni

Between October 20 and October 26, the EMPD Specialized Services Units Officers apprehended 38 undocumented foreign nationals between the ages of 25 and 46 from different African countries throughout the city of Ekurhuleni.

EMPD Specialised Services Units Officers apprehended 38 undocumented foreign nationals between the ages of 25 and 46 from different African countries throughout the city of Ekurhuleni, between October 20 and October 26.

EMPD Specialised Services officers, while performing their law Enforcement duties throughout the city of Ekurhuleni, managed to apprehend 38 undocumented foreign nationals.

Officers visited hotspot areas in an effort to curb the high number of undocumented foreign nationals on the borders of the Republic.

On questioning the suspects, who all failed to provide officers with satisfactory reasons for not being in possession of their passports.

The 38 undocumented Males were immediately handcuffed and escorted to various Police Stations to be detained, where immigration services were notified to conduct further investigations on the identification documents of the suspects.

All individuals facing charges of contravening the Immigration Act are expected to appear in the magistrate’s courts in the jurisdiction where they were apprehended soon.
