Kempton Park police arrest suspect after R50k worth of stolen goods found in Bredell home

During the search, officers recovered four boxes containing 50 bottles of alcophyllin each, 50 loose bottles of alcophyllin, three boxes of panty liners, and six moisturizer creams.

Kempton Park police arrested a 41-year-old man for possession of stolen goods valued at approximately R50 000 on November 12.

Officers from the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team were conducting routine crime-prevention duties when they received information that a suspect was allegedly in possession of stolen property.

Acting on the tip-off, the team went to a residence on Kilan Street in Bredell and requested permission to search the suspect and the premises.

During the search, officers recovered four boxes containing 50 bottles of Alcophyllin each, 50 loose bottles of Alcophyllin, three boxes of panty liners, and six moisturizer creams. The combined estimated value of the items is around R50 000.

The suspect could not provide an explanation for the goods and was arrested on the spot. He has been charged with possession of stolen goods and is being held at Kempton Park Police Station. He is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
