EMPD recovers stolen Toyota Etios used in doctor robbery in Phomolong

A stolen Toyota Etios linked to a robbery was recovered in Phomolong after EMPD officers traced it using tracking information.

On November 27, officers from the EMPD’s Northern Region Task Team recovered a stolen silver Toyota Etios in Sondela Street, Phomolong Section, Thembisa.

EMPD spokesperson Katlego Mphahlele said the vehicle was linked to a robbery involving a medical doctor.

“Officers were conducting law enforcement duties when they received information from a tracking company about a silver Toyota Etios that had been used as a getaway vehicle after the robbery of a doctor.

“Members, with the help of the GPS co-ordinates, were led to Sondela Street, Phomolong Section, where the silver Toyota Etios was found on the side of the road,” said Mphahlele.

The recovered vehicle was transported to the Aeroton Police Pound for further investigation.
