Police arrest suspects and recover stolen vehicles during crime prevention operations

The suspects will appear in the local Magistrate’s Courts facing charges of theft out of motor vehicle and possession of drugs.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects and recovered two motor vehicles between April 25 and May 2.

On April 25, at around 11:30, members arrested a 37-year-old suspect in possession of a white Suzuki Espresso in Kelvin Road opposite Festival Mall, Kempton Park.

It is alleged that the suspect removed a tracking device from the Espresso in an attempt to avoid returning it to the rental company.

The suspect was detained at Kempton Park SAPS, and the vehicle was returned to the rental company.

In further policing, a hijacked white Suzuki Ertiga was recovered in an open field at Lindelani squatter camp, Benoni reported on a Daveyton case and a suspect was arrested in Rabie Ridge when he was allegedly found in possession of mandrax.

Investigation continues in these cases.

The suspects will appear in their respective local magistrates’ courts on charges of theft out of a motor vehicle and possession of drugs.
