Robert Wolk murder accused to apply for bail next week
Two of the three suspects arrested in connection with the murder appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court this morning.
Hlangananani Shezi and Muziwethu Mthethwa have been appointed legal representation, with the matter postponed to October 13 for a bail application.
Two of the three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of racing driver Robert Wolk appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on October 6.
Hlangananani Shezi and Muziwethu Mthethwa appeared for the appointment of legal representation. The matter was postponed to October 13 for their bail application, and both accused remain in custody.
Wolk was shot dead on September 16 in Esther Park, Kempton Park. Shezi and Mthethwa were arrested on the morning of September 19.

During the bail application of the third accused, Khotso Richard Mashao, on October 2, the state outlined evidence allegedly linking Mthethwa and Shezi to the murder.
The state told the court that a blue Volkswagen Jetta was seen fleeing the scene following the shooting.
The vehicle was later spotted at a hostel in Vusi Musi, Tembisa, where Mthethwa was allegedly found in possession of its keys.
According to the state, further investigation established that the Jetta had allegedly been hijacked and that its owner had been shot seven times.

Mthethwa was subsequently arrested on charges of hijacking and murder.
The state further alleged that, during questioning, Mthethwa admitted taking Wolk’s cellphone and handing it to a Nigerian national. The state said the man confirmed that Mthethwa was the person who had brought him the cellphone.
According to the state, further investigation led Mthethwa to Shezi.
The state alleged that, when questioned, Shezi indicated that he was aware of the shooting and allegedly stated that he was the person who shot Wolk.
The State further told the court that, when questioned about the firearm allegedly used in the murder, Shezi led police to his brother’s home.
A firearm was allegedly found behind a toilet, wrapped in a blue towel.

According to the State, the firearm is a black 9mm Beretta and was found with 17 rounds of ammunition.
The allegations have not yet been tested in court. Both Shezi and Mthethwa remain in custody and are expected to bring their bail applications before the court on October 13.
