Brentwood Park residents say enough is enough with power outages

Frustrated residents said they want their issues to the acknowledged by the City of Ekurhuleni.

Residents of Brentwood Park took it to the streets this afternoon (June 2) in protest over extended power outages in the area.

Ward 25 councillor, Danie Putter told residents that they should protest peacefully and sign a petition against City of Ekurhuleni for their issues to be escalated.

Residents also claim that large-scale construction in the area can be blamed for added strain on the main power supply to the area.

The resulting grid overload has meant residents in Brentwood Park and surrounding areas have had to fork out additional money on fueling generators.

One resident said that there is a new issue everyday.
