Kempton Park residents urged to attend street renaming consultation

The City of Ekurhuleni has invited residents to a public consultation on 28 March to propose a new, inclusive name for Kafferboom Crescent in Birchleigh.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) is calling on residents in Kempton Park to participate in a public consultation process to rename Kafferboom Crescent in Birchleigh.

The city’s geographical naming and renaming policy outlines the principles that guide such decisions, including the avoidance of offensive, discriminatory, or derogatory names.

The policy ensures that naming and renaming processes are consistent, fair, and equitable and encourages public participation as an integral part of decision-making.

The public consultation seeks to identify a new name that unites the community, promotes social cohesion, and reflects shared values.

The public is invited to attend the consultation session on March 28 at 09:00 at Coen Scholtz Hall, Kempton Park.
