Local new artisans graduate

Graduates on the day cold not contain their excitement as they have finally made into the world of profession.

Its graduation season and Ekurhuleni Artisans and Skills Training Centre (EASTC) held their graduation ceremony on June 28, hosted by actor Gabriel Temudzani.

Graduate Innocentia Nkopane took to the podium and said a few words before she received her certificate.

“The knowledge and skills I have acquired during my time at EASTC have not only prepared me for a successful career in the field but have also instilled in me a sense of pride and passion for the art of crafting.

“I cannot express enough gratitude to Samsung Electronics for their unwavering support and commitment to empowering young artisans like myself,” she said.

EASTC CEO Simon Ndukwana said the centre’s partnership with Samsung aimed to address unemployment.
“We want to equip the youth with skills they can use to better their lives”, he said.

‘The graduates can now use their skills to get employment or start their own small businesses.

“This is just the beginning of their journey. Their greatness is determined by how hungry they are to make it big, and we encourage them to be innovative and find new solutions for the future,” Ndukwana said.

The Samsung director of business operations, innovation and corporate affairs, Hlubi Shivanda, was in attendance.

“As Samsung, we are proud to have assisted these students in reaching their dreams. We believe we have opened new doors for these artisans,” he said.
