Local police officer proves that hard work pays off

The SAPS in Gauteng has said it remains resolute in addressing the proliferation of essential infrastructure-related crime that has a detrimental impact on the economy.

According to SAPS Ekurhuleni district spokesperson, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on July 11 sentenced three men each to 10 years imprisonment for tampering with essential infrastructure.

Sekgobela said the police arrested them in January 2020 and assigned the case against them to Sergeant Freddy Makau from Norkem Park SAPS for further investigation.

“Makau’s meticulousness and dedication resulted in a watertight case against the accused in court,” said Sekgobela.
