Unjani Clinic gives back on Mandela Day
This act of kindness reinforced the spirit of togetherness and kindness that Nelson Mandela, the iconic leader and humanitarian, embodied.
An inspiring and informative event transpired at the Unjani Clinic in Clayville on July 18.
Sister Tebogo, the clinic owner, teamed up with Coach Nthabeleng to organise a special gathering for young women in the community.
Together, they spent Mandela Day educating girls about gender-based violence (GBV) awareness and provided crucial knowledge about menstrual cycles.
The Unjani Clinic in Clayville, sponsored by BestMed, saw this event as an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of the young girls in their community.
BestMed provided a toiletry bag for each girl who attended.

These bags were stuffed with essential hygiene products and washable sanitary pads.
According to Nthabeleng, the day was filled with education, empowerment, and camaraderie as the girls came together to learn about a variety of important topics.
“Sister Tebogo led sessions highlighting the significance of GBV awareness, discussing its prevalence and ways to combat it.
“Understanding the importance of this issue is crucial in a world where gender-based violence affects far too many lives.
“In addition to the GBV sessions, the girls were treated to an interactive discussion about menstrual cycles and hygiene.
“This initiative aimed to break the taboo surrounding menstruation and provide the girls with accurate information, empowering them to take care of themselves while ensuring they don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed about a natural process,” said Nthabeleng.
Moreover, Unjani Clinic Clayville went the extra mile by organising a delicious lunch for the attendees.
