Light delivery vehicle up in flames on R25

A light delivery vehicle caught fire at the intersections of the R25 and Kwartel Road in Birch Acres on August 23.
Officers from the EMPD, Edleen precinct, attended to the scene.

“The EMPD officers received a call from the call centre regarding the incident,” said EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa.

“Officers responded to the location. Upon arrival, they found a Hyundai H1 transporting an engine,” she said.

“When the fire department arrived the remnants of the blaze were extinguished.”

Thepa said no injuries were reported.

“EMPD officers remained on the scene to monitor the situation,” said Thepa.
