Help four-legged friends at the SPCA get new homes

The adoption process may take up to seven working days to complete, and pre-homes are only conducted between 10:00 and 14:00; Monday to Friday.

These are the steps to follow to adopt a pet at the Kempton Park SPCA:

1. Choose an animal and fall in love.

2. Complete the application to adopt the animal. Pay R200 (non-refundable) deposit. You need a copy of your ID and proof of residence.

3. The staff will inspect your application.

4. The adoption process may take up to seven working days to complete, and pre-homes are only conducted between 10:00 and 14:00; Monday to Friday.

5. On approval of the application and pre-home inspection, the balance of the adoption fee is payable.

Teddy is an adult male Jack Russell cross Pekingese looking for a loving home.

6. The animal will go for sterilisation as soon as there is space at the vet after approval of the home inspection.

7. Take your fur-baby home.

The local society reserves the right to reject or refuse the application.

Adoption fees:

• Dog: R1 300 (includes sterilisation, micro-chip, first vaccination, first de-wormer and tag)

• Cat: R950 (includes sterilisation, first vaccination, first de-wormer and micro-chip optional)
