YANA hosts gala dinner for a milestone
Jabulile Maseko thanked all the attendees and emphasized that the success of YANA would not have been possible without the dedication and support of several individuals and organisations.
The You Are Not Alone Women and Family Centre (YANA) marked a milestone with its first annual gala dinner on October 27.
The event served the dual purpose of celebrating YANA’s fourth birthday while expressing gratitude to those who have contributed to the organisation’s success, as well as raising funds to ensure its continued operation.
Under the leadership of Jabulile Maseko, the founder and CEO of YANA, the organisation has made notable strides in providing support and help to women and families since its inception.

Maseko delivered a heartfelt presentation during the dinner, highlighting the organisation’s journey of growth and impact.

“YANA was initially founded as an online platform in 2019 and officially registered in October 2020. Since then, it has reached over 1m beneficiaries through its diverse services.
“Through social media platforms, face-to-face counselling, newspaper publications, and collaborations with VOT FM, YANA has successfully provided essential support to needy individuals.
“One notable achievement of YANA is its endorsement letter from the Department of Education to offer psychosocial support in schools across Ekurhuleni.

“By tackling issues such as bullying and GBV, the organisation has become a vital resource for schools in need of assistance in dealing with these challenging issues.
“To broaden its reach and effectiveness, we have expanded our presence by establishing four offices. These include the Edenvale SAPS, the Norkem Park SAPS, the Sebenza Police Station, and a satellite office at Maokeng, Tembisa.
“This strategic expansion has enabled us to provide on-the-ground support to communities and collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies to address critical issues affecting women and families.”
Maseko thanked all the attendees and emphasised that the success of YANA would not have been possible without the dedication and support of several individuals and organisations.
“As the founder, I reiterate YANA’s commitment to continued growth and the pursuit of its vision in ensuring that women and families facing challenges are not left to face them alone,” said Maseko.
