One arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition
The suspect will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate Court.
The Crime Prevention Unit, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Anton Jonker, were patrolling when they saw a suspicious vehicle with three occupants at the intersection of Kempton and Greyilla roads in Kempton Park.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, the team stopped the vehicle and asked to search the occupants.
“On searching them, one occupant was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm with live rounds. The firearm did not belong to him.

“The suspect was arrested and detained for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.”
Jonker said the operations will be held regularly, especially during the festive, to ensure people in Kempton Park live in a safe area.
The suspect will appear in the Kempton park Magistrate‘s Court.
