Almeya Belly Dance Studio visits Hospice

Every dance, every movement, and every interaction within the studio reflects a commitment to creating an environment where joy knows no bounds.

Almeya Belly Dance Studio in Kempton Park recently visited Hospice East Rand, a charity organisation that the studio supports.

“Each year, the stdio selects a charity to support, and this year, their hearts led them to Hospice East Rand,” said Jonquil Siepman, marketing and media liaison at Hospice East Rand.

“The generosity extended by Almeya aligns seamlessly with the spirit of compassion and care that defines Hospice East Rand.”

Siepman said the Almeya studio prepared beautiful care packs for some of their patients. These were prepared meticulously with love, warmth, and a deep understanding of the comfort they can bring during this festive season.

“Almeya’s end-of-year concert was a celebration. Watching the students dance with unbridled joy was a breath of fresh air, a reminder of the power of dance to transcend boundaries, and create moments of pure happiness,” said Siepman.

The beautiful care packs prepared by ladies with kind hearts.

“The incredible women arranged beats to the rhythm of kindness, compassion and boundless joy in the heart of their community of Birchleigh.”

What began as a dance journey 19 years ago by Dawn Mey and Wilma Allan has evolved into a haven of empowerment, inclusivity, and unwavering support.

Dawn and Wilma envisioned a dance studio as more than just a space for movement. It would be a sanctuary where women could discover themselves, foster self-love, and embrace empowerment.

Siepman said their dance classes are open to girls aged seven onwards, transcend age boundaries, even welcoming a vibrant 76-year-old lady who joyfully dances alongside them.

The studio isn’t just about dance it’s a safe space to share, vent, and leave troubles behind. The infectious zest for life that emanates from Almeya is tangible.
