The family celebrated Estelle Bennett’s 70th birthday and welcomed their fifth-generation member.

Her daughter, Estelle Bennett (70), was born on January 7, 1954.

Bennett said she loves caring for her mother and playing games between her daily chores.

Her daughter, Erika Lawrence (47), was born on May 16, 1976, and gave birth to the fourth generation of girls when her daughter Janique Lawrence (23) was born in August 1999.

The fourth generation of women welcomed their fifth member of the family when Janique gave birth to daughter MacKenzie Ariella Baker on October 17.

“The first time we managed to get the five generations together was at my 70th surprise party at Die Bos Restaurant.

“Having to welcome a fifth generational member in our family was a major milestone to reach.

“We never thought we would be so blessed to reach this milestone,” said Bennett.

She said when she was younger, everyone walked to where they needed to be, and healthy living was part of growing up.

“There was no TV or electronics available, so we spent much time together as a family,” said Bennett.

“We, as children, also played netball, hockey and swimming,” she added.

Bennett said her family is united, “We are a very close family. We visit each other often, go on vacations and have fun together.”
