Casa Caritas holds jumble sale to raise funds
The centre also uses jumble sales as a platform for the community to learn more about what they do.
Casa Caritas, a home for mentally and physically disabled people held a jumble sale on March 9.
The event saw the sale of second-hand clothing, shoes, bedding, kitchenware and furniture to raise funds for the home.
The home does not depend on governmental funding to care for its 34 residents and four day visitors.
Casa Caritas CEO Chantell Kriel said the home accepts pre-loved donations from residents, including clothing, linen, furniture and household items.

“We use these items in our home, and the items that we cannot use are sold in our second-hand store, Something Blue, which is located on-site.
“The sale of these second-hand items helps fund our home, and the regular jumble sale serves the same purpose,” she added.
Casa Caritas jumble sales are hosted quarterly.
“Sometimes we host sales when we do not have space in our shop.”
