School outings at Melville Koppies bring joy

Melville Koppies, being a nature reserve and heritage site, provides ample scope for learners to see and feel the content of their textbooks.

School outings to Melville Koppies are not only beneficial to the teachers who get a break from the confines of the classroom.

One learner during a recent school visit said, “This place is so beautiful! I could stay here all day.”

Meerkats (young scouts) get a chance to see if they can add to their badges.

Special tours can be arranged to suit any grade with Melville Koppies guides trained in various disciplines, including geography, life sciences, history and more.

The cost is R50 per learner.

All income is used for the maintenance of the Koppies.
