Police join efforts to recover body of unknown man from a manhole

Divers from the Tshwane Water Policing and Diving Services and K9 Search and Rescue were deployed to Northern Farms, Erasmia to recover a body from a manhole on September 27.

Assisted by WPDS, Shoshanguve and West Rand K9 teamed up with high angle rope rescue techniques lowering a member into the manhole to retrieve the body of an unknown man.

Tshwane Water Policing and Diving Services and K9 Search and Rescue were called to the scene.

The body was discovered by a farm worker.

However, circumstances as to how the victim ended up in the uncovered manhole are uncertain and will be investigated by Erasmia SAPS.
