The Kempton Park leg of the programme recorded several arrests for illegal immigration, and a few businesses and a primary school were closed for non-compliance with by-laws. Some business transgressors included backyard illegal liquor manufacturing.

The illegal activities clean-up programme will continue across the different areas of Ekurhuleni.
“We need to make these interventions a norm in our communities to ensure we take back our streets from criminals and regain our secure safe spaces,” said Xhakaza.
