Ikasi Kai One, an NPO founded in 2019 by Mbuyiseli Hlazo, makes a difference in the community by using recycling to uplift disadvantaged individuals.

The NPO’s primary mission is to reduce poverty while raising awareness about the vital role of recycling in sustaining livelihoods.

Hlazo said Ikasi Kai One focuses on recycling materials to prevent waste and turn them into valuable resources for the community.

“We collect cans and plastic bottles, recycle them and use the proceeds to support those in need. This helps reduce waste in our environment and provides much-needed assistance to the less fortunate.”

The organisation has created meaningful change for individuals through strong partnerships with community stakeholders.

On November 9, Ikasi Kai One formally introduced itself to the community at Modupo Primary School. The event celebrated the NPO’s mission and included cooking for the community and treating children to goodies
