SAPS nabs four suspects and recover stolen goods

BFS arrested four suspects between January 15 and January 17. All suspects are due to appear in court.

On January 15 at around 18:00, members provided backup to a security company who had pulled over a silver Volkswagen Polo on the corners of Voortrekker Road and Woburn Avenue, Benoni.

On investigation, the three occupants were found to be in possession of five cellphones suspected to be stolen and reported on a Kempton Park case.

The suspects were immediately arrested.

On January 17, members received information about illicit cigarettes being sold on the corners of Haley and Colin streets, Lambton, Germiston.

On arrival, the shop was searched and a 27-year-old foreign national was arrested when 21 cartons of various illicit cigarettes were recovered with an estimated value of around R10 000.

Investigation continues on all matters. The suspects will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and possession of illicit cigarettes.
