Tip-off helps EMPD recover hijacked truck in Clayville

A case of hijacking was registered at the Rabie Ridge Police Station.

The EMPD’s North Task Team officers recovered a hijacked white Hyundai truck on Olifantsfontein Road, the M57, next to Afrisam in the Clayville area on January 14.

They were doing crime prevention duties when they received information from a tracking company about a white Hyundai truck hijacked on Allandale Road. The vehicle’s tracking device indicated that it was on Olifantsfontein Road.

North Task Team members immediately searched for the truck, with the co-ordinates directing them to Olifantsfontein Road, where they saw it abandoned on the roadside. On close inspection, the truck’s keys lay on the passenger seat, and its cargo was gone.

A hijacking case was registered at the Rabie Ridge Police Station. The vehicle went to the Aeroton Police Pound for further investigation.
