“The joy and gratitude expressed by parents and children during the handover were touching.

“We are grateful for the support and contributions from Claassen-Smit, and we look forward to seeing the positive effects of this donation in the coming year,” shared the Thato One Big Family LGBTQI+ Society NPO and the parents who benefited.
Youth empowerment for underprivileged children is a cause close to the heart of the Mr Gay Nation SA organisation.
Claassen-Smit stepped in when the Thato One NPO reached out seeking assistance for five students whose parents could not afford the required school stationery.
“We believe all children should have a fair chance and should not be left behind just because they cannot afford basic stationery,” he said.
Recognising the ongoing need, the organisation will also host a school drive this year to support more children, ensuring they have the tools necessary for a successful education.

Claassen-Smit encouraged businesses and organisations to contribute towards making a difference in children’s lives.
“We are urging more organisations and corporations to donate stationery to those in need. No child should be limited in their education over something as small as a pencil.”
