Resident of Allen Park Council for the Aged celebrates 101st birthday
Council for the Aged throws 101 birthday bash for resident.
To celebrate a life well-lived, the Council for the Aged recently hosted a special luncheon for one of its long-time residents, Chrissie Venter, at Allen Park Council for the Aged.
Venter, who turned 101, shared the occasion with fellow residents, family, and friends, all dressed for the celebration.
She has been a resident at Allen Park since April 2013 and continues to maintain her graceful appearance and warm spirit.

Dressed elegantly for the occasion, her striking white hair and well-groomed presence reflected the care she has always taken in her personal appearance.
Reflecting on her milestone, Venter expressed gratitude for her long life, attributing it to her faith.
“It is amazing to be 101 years old; it can only be God.
“I am happy for the party, and I’m glad the other residents came to celebrate with me.
“At my age, things aren’t as easy as they used to be, so to still be here and able to enjoy this day is only by God’s grace. I am so happy,” she said.
Venter was joined by her son, daughter, and daughter-in-law, who spoke fondly about the remarkable woman she has always been.
Described as a sweet, peaceful, and loving person, her kindness has remained unchanged over the years.

She is the mother of one son and three daughters, though one daughter sadly passed away.
Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her granddaughter, Zonnette Theron, shared how her grandmother’s devotion to others has always made her special.
“Since childhood, for as long as I can remember, she has always been praying for people. That is what makes her unique.
“No matter what, she always loves me, and she is the best grandmother on earth. She is my support,” Theron said.
Venter’s life has been rich with experiences. She loved travelling, cooking, and baking, and her hobbies included knitting and reading.
“Even in her later years, she remained dedicated to helping others, visiting elderly residents in assisted living and frail care, reading the Bible, and praying with them.”

Recognising her kindness and the impact she has had on those around her, Sarie Scheepers took the initiative to organise the celebratory lunch.
“She may not always be around her family, but here, the residents have become her second family,” Scheepers said.
Scheepers shared that it felt right to honour Venter with a special celebration, as she deserves all the good things in life, big or small.
“Not everyone reaches 100 years, so celebrating her 101st birthday is a blessing and a privilege. She deserves to be celebrated always,” Scheepers said.
