For the past 20 years, Almeya Bellydance Studio has been more than just a dance school—it has been a sanctuary of empowerment, inclusivity, and giving.

Founded by Dawn Mey and Wilma Allan, the studio has become a place where women of all ages come together to embrace self-love, confidence, and joy.

From girls as young as seven to a spirited 76-year-old who moves with the same passion as her younger counterparts, Almeya welcomes dancers of all ages and backgrounds.

More than just learning choreography, students find a space where they can express themselves, share their stories, and leave their worries behind.

From the moment Almeya opened its doors, Dawn and Wilma committed to using their platform to support charities in need.

Over the past two decades, thanks to the generosity of their students, they have provided care packages, groceries, baby clothing, school supplies, pet food, and more to various organisations.

Among the many beneficiaries are children’s homes, shelters for abused women, animal welfare groups, old age homes, and community initiatives.

Their efforts have included taking senior citizens out for coffee outings, providing reusable sanitary products for schoolgirls and donating books to mobile libraries aimed at improving literacy in primary schools.

Whether it’s assisting families in crisis or supporting organisations that uplift the community, Almeya has made giving back an integral part of its journey.
