Thembisa comic to feature in Tembisawapopayi music video

With growing popularity on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, Anele is determined to keep building his name in the entertainment industry.

Comedian Anele Mazibuko is making waves in the entertainment industry, and his next big move will see him featured in the upcoming Tembisawapopayi music video, produced by DJ Lick MusiQ SA, alongside Endulwini Crew dancers.

Anele, who hails from Thembisa, joined forces last year with fellow entertainer Vusi Reshumela Qwabe, better known as Yooh Kwenzakalani, forming a dynamic comedy duo AneleVusi.

Their partnership began in April 2024 when the two discovered their shared comedic spark while painting at church during Easter.

“Vusi saw something in me while we were painting, and since then we worked together to build something unique,” said Mazibuko.

Anele credits his family, especially his mother, for their unwavering support of his dreams.

“Whenever I want to shoot content, my mom is always available to help. She makes sure my skills and passion for entertaining communities do not go to waste,” he said.

But Anele acknowledges comedy is not always easy.

“Being a comedian today takes guts. Not everyone will laugh at your jokes, and not every performance will be a hit. It takes originality, courage, and the ability to keep experimenting with new material to stand out,” he said.

He also emphasises the importance of building resilience in the industry.

“You must develop a thick skin, and learn how to handle criticism and hecklers with humour and grace.”

Aside from making people laugh, AneleVusi is working on launching a branded clothing line called ANELEVUSI (hhayi ngathi akuyenzakalanga kahle). The line reflects their comedic identity and growing brand presence.

“I am excited to be part of the Tembisawapopayi music video. I want people to know starting from scratch is not a setback.

“Try something new; you never know where it might lead,” said Mazibuko.

With growing popularity on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, Anele is determined to keep building his name in the entertainment industry.

“People can expect a lot from me. I want to expand my brand, have shirts in stores, appear in TV commercials, and keep being entertaining.”

Mazibuko dreams of collaborating with Skhumba Hlophe, one of South Africa’s well-known comedians, and hopes to one day see his work featured on national TV.

“I hope the Tembisawapopayi music video reaches millions of views and gets airtime on television. And maybe, one day, other newspapers will write my story too.”
