Eleven stars graduate from Shimuzic Foundation
Eleven talented young individuals from Thembisa received certificates of completion, marking the end of a four-month journey of learning and growth.
A graduation ceremony in Sandton on April 9 celebrated the achievements of the second intake of The Hub Internship Programme, a Services SETA Level 5-accredited initiative.
Eleven talented young individuals from Thembisa received certificates of completion, marking the end of a four-month journey of learning and growth.
The programme, run by the Shimuzic Foundation and powered by the Hollywood Foundation, provided participants with hands-on experience, mentorship from seasoned professionals, skill-building workshops, and opportunities for community engagement.
It equipped interns with skills in event management, design, and entrepreneurship.

Launched in October 2024, the initiative aimed to upskill young people from Thembisa and enable them to apply their learning in real-world environments.
Through a blend of practical training and exposure to large-scale events, the interns gained both confidence and industry-ready experience.
“We are proud of the progress our graduates have made throughout this programme,” said Ashley ‘Shimza’ Raphala, founder of the Shimuzic Foundation.
“This internship is about more than just education; it is about fostering real-world experience, mentorship, and creating pathways to long-term success.

“These 11 students demonstrated exceptional creativity and dedication, and we are excited to see where their careers take them.”
The 2025 cohort includes Tumisho Marakalla, Mduduzi Zwane, Kamogelo Aphane, Lunga Magagula, Kamogelo Fophe, Karabo Malete, Thato Malebati, Kamogelo Mojela, Masego Mokoena, Tshegofasto Lebogang, and Dimpho Makuane.
As new members of The Hub alumni network, they will continue collaborating with the Shimuzic Foundation and its partners on various events and projects, further sharpening their skills in the field.

Hollywood Group transformation manager Babongile Mkhize said the Hollywood Foundation is proud to be part of the journey.
“Through our partnership with The Hub Internship Programme, we saw the impact that hands-on learning and mentorship can have on these students’ careers.
