The officers handed out safety pamphlets with practical tips to help shoppers avoid becoming victims of crime, especially in busy public areas like malls and markets.

EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit officers held a safety awareness campaign at the Mega-Mart in the Thembisa area on April 25.

According to EMPD media liaison officer Thabiso Makgatho, the initiative aimed to teach the public about personal safety while shopping.
