Thembisa butchery shut down over health violations

EMPD officers and the MMC for Health closed a Thembisa butchery after finding meat on the floor, filthy conditions, and missing permits.

EMPD Thembisa precinct officers and the MMC for Health and Social Development shut down a Thembisa butchery for non-compliance with health regulations.

The operation in the Enjonalanga section saw officers discover disturbing conditions at the business’ premises.

They found meat lying directly on the floor, the area was blood-stained and unclean with a foul odour, and it did not have the necessary documentation to operate legally.
