Rand Water maintenance to affect water supply across Ekurhuleni
The City of Ekurhuleni has issued a public notice about Rand Water's upcoming infrastructure maintenance, set to affect water supply across multiple areas from 29 May to 3 June. Residents are urged to store water and stay informed through official updates.
The CoE reminds residents and businesses about an upcoming Rand Water maintenance, which will impact the bulk water supply infrastructure from May 29 to June 3.
The maintenance will affect the supply to several areas in the city, including Benoni, Daveyton, Etwatwa, Springs, Brakpan, Kwa-Thema, Tsakani, Duduza, Nigel, Vosloorus, Boksburg, Germiston, and Katlehong.
MMC for Water and Sanitation Thembi Msane emphasised the scheduled work’s vital nature.
“We understand the inconvenience this maintenance will cause to our residents and businesses, but it is necessary to ensure the sustainability and reliability of our water supply system.
“We ask for your patience and co-operation during this period as technicians work tirelessly to complete these upgrades.”

To maintain safe water quality, residents are strongly encouraged to store sufficient water in clean, sealed containers before the project begins. To help alleviate the impact, the city will deploy water tankers across the affected areas throughout the five days.
Msane also appealed for co-operation.
“Please, do not intimidate tanker drivers or damage equipment. It will only hinder our relief efforts.”
The water supply and pressure could take up to two weeks to stabilise after the maintenance, particularly in higher-lying areas like Tsakani, Daveyton and Etwatwa.
The CoE will provide ongoing updates on tanker schedules and locations through ward councillors and official media channels.
For more information, stay connected with the city’s official platforms and be cautious and patient during the maintenance.
