Operation Antifreeze launches annual blanket drive for Kempton Park children

As winter bites, Operation Antifreeze has launched its annual blanket drive to keep Kempton Park children warm.

As winter sets in, local organisation Operation Antifreeze has launched its annual blanket drive to help keep children warm during the cold months.

This year, the organisation hopes to collect 780 blankets to support 780 children from 11 schools in the area.

Last year, Operation Antifreeze successfully gathered 700 blankets, and this year they are aiming to surpass that number — possibly reaching 800, if community support allows.

But it’s not just blankets they need. The organisation welcomes all kinds of donations, including tinned food, clothing, and other essentials.

“Every donation counts and will help someone in need,” said Patrick Tom, project coordinator for Operation Antifreeze.

In addition to the blanket drive, the organisation also runs a Christmas Hamper Drive, collecting items throughout the year to prepare festive gift parcels for children.

If you would like to contribute, donations can be dropped off at their offices or arranged via their website.

With the support of the Kempton Park community, Operation Antifreeze hopes to reach its goal and ensure no child goes cold this winter.
